A Tug of War

Contributed by Willofree on Thursday, 30th December 2004 @ 09:37:59 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Little microscopic cells multiply and divide
Causing damage to the other organs inside
Amazing what a tiny organism can do
It becomes a life and death struggle for you

The battle may rage on for a long time
All of science pitted against this villain of thine
It becomes a tug of war
Each side struggling to the core

Enemy is quite amoral regarding function
Doesn't care about the quality of person who malfunctions
The disease needs a host upon which to feed
Aiming to render you helpless and dropping you to your knees

You need to rally your resources around you
It will take a well-trained crew to pull you through
Medicine and disease locked in mortal combat
Right now no one is sure where the other is at

The saga rages on within the body
Until a winner emerges wholeheartedly
An ally will make a final try
In the end one or the other must die

Prayers and petitions may help indeed
Whether or not He takes heed
That too is an unknown entity
As to whether life or death becomes reality

I am guessing this is about cancer specifically and illness in general. A very well written..and very true...piece.
In the end it's all up to God isnt it my friend?

Excellent write
Very well done
Larry
