All around people I can’t and won’t relate to,
Stare through shop windows seeking reasons to exist,
The world is a catalogue,
Love is a credit card.
More primary colours than and LSD rainbow,
And just as dizzying
I crave grey,
Another Christmas,
You only get so many,
While stocks last,
Greedy children grab and jostle, lost in frenzy,
They have been promised the world, they get cheap plastic,
Haggard Mothers, dead souls wandering,
DNA perpetuated, now existing in servitude,
Charity boxes shook in my face,
To remind me how horrid the world is,
50 cent buys piece of mind,
Cheap considering,
Carollers singing with red faced with joy,
They are going to heaven,
Someone has to,
Lonely men shuffle past uncomfortably,
The shouldn’t exist till mid January,
They feel guilty and exposed,
Religious pamphlets pushed in my face,
Accept Christ or Burn in Hell,
Can I phone a friend?
Eight ahead in the cue,
All buying *****e, excitedly and slowly,
I close my eyes and pray for the atom bomb,
Mushroom Clouds
Fall out,
Radiation,
Fire scorched skies and oblivion,
Peace and quiet,
Merry Christmas.
