Kids Grow Up Too

Contributed by GodisGreat3842 on Thursday, 30th December 2004 @ 05:58:44 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

A mother and her daughter
Going shopping together,
Doing each other's nails,
Never fighting.
Fast forward five years...
A mother and her daughter
Never going shopping together,
Never doing each other's nails,
Always fighting.

A father and his son
Going fishing together,
Enjoying each other's time,
Never fighting.
Fast forward five years...
A father and his son
Never going fishing together,
Not enjoying each other's time,
Always fighting.

What happened to these kids?
What happened to their parents?
Well the kids grew up
And the parents had no clue.

The mother thought she'd surprise her daughter
With a trip to the mall.
She had plans.
The mother made her daughter go,
She got mad.

The father thought he'd surprise his son
With a fishing trip at the lake.
He had plans.
The father made his son go,
He got mad.

These parents don't know it,
But they're ruining their kids' lives.
These kids don't know it,
But their parents are just trying to help.

The have good intentions sure,
They just don't know how
To help.

Good poem, me and my mom fight all the time. We never did any of that stuff, but her and my step sister does.
