: The Wanderer:

Contributed by ravensfire on Thursday, 30th December 2004 @ 03:17:49 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

You know me, I go from home to home, My few friends say, I'm like a leaf that is blown. My life has been, full of pain and fear, I've never been, at one place more than a year. I wander here and I wander there, Some people say that I just don't care. Is life a game, that people play, When people speak, they don't have much to say. When I go home, where ever that may be, As I go in, I say its only me. And when I leave I don't look back, All that I own is in my pack. Out on the road, out goes my thumb, Some people say, that I an just a bum. But I have something that you don't see, I have myself and I am free. Maybe one day, I'll settle down, But in my mind, I won't stop wandering around. I'll be like you, your heart full of strife, Don't you see, thats not my kind of life. I wander here and I wander there, I want you to know that I do care.

That was really good, I liked the rhyme scheme. Is this about a foster child? The story is so sad, and the person in the poem is a very strong character! Excellently done!
