WAR NO MORE-A SONNET

Contributed by Rhymingron on Wednesday, 29th December 2004 @ 10:01:17 PM in AEST
Topic: political

What if there was a war and no one came?
What would the commentators talk about?
And those vendors who profit from the game
Whatever would they do when they're shut out?

What of the perpatrators of the thing?
Who from their ivory towers keep the score
Control subjects like puppets on a string.
What if they never could do war no more?

Or maybe they could have themselves a duel
These fearless leaders never had to fight
I hope no one will think I'm being cruel
When I confess I might enjoy the sight.

No winners, losers, bearer of the blame
If there should be a war and no one came.
