Earth Quake amd Tsunamis

Contributed by Elizabeth_Dandy on Wednesday, 29th December 2004 @ 01:11:30 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Disastrous earthquake,- deadly water wall,-
The largest earthquake on this plant earth;
With waves high of proportions biblical
Cannot but impact the whole universe.

Unspeakable the great calamity,
As massive inundating waters rave,
While helpless victims try in vain to flee
The overwhelming, all-devouring wave.

Oh what great loss, oh what tremendous loss!
Of lives and treasures of humanity,
Lord keep in check grim reaper Thanatos,
Whose fiendish works have reached their apogee.

Oh massive waves horrific, high and dread!
For the afflicted trying to escape,
And leave behind them loved ones drowned and dead
By nature’s merciless and brutal rape.

How sinister, deceitful, treacherous.
Can mother nature all too often be,
Permitting forces dark and pity less,
And the grim reaper Thanatos roam free.

Great are the sufferings of man today,
As in the past, - what will the future bring?
We know not, but can only trust and pray
To our sovereign Lord and Christ the King.

On those that drowned in waters dark and gray
Or lost their lives torn or swept overboard,
Have pity on them Lord for this we pray
And give them mansions in your house dear Lord!.

this had awkard diction at times. excellent use of rhymes, but the rhythym clouds that fact.
