Seashells

Contributed by Crimsonflame on Wednesday, 29th December 2004 @ 02:32:05 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I looked into your eyes and I see,
Our love represented by the sea,
Spreading wide and tempestous,
Yet as lovely as it can be.

Do you remember how we met?
Right here in this tranquil seashore,
Beneath the crying gulls,
Surrounded by the crashing waves.

You used to tell me,
When we were together,
All you hear is the wave at my feet,
And that I am all that you can see.

This is our lover's paradise,
This is where we sat and dreamt,
Entwined in each other's arms,
Cocooned in our promises.

Now I am here alone,
Our sandcastle ruins at my feet,
The seashells scattered across the sand,
Our hopes ruined,our love undone.

My heart broken in thousand pieces,
Scattered like our treasured seashells,
Swept by our waves of tears,
Until you come back to me,
There is where my heart pieces will be,
Circling the ruins of our sandcastle,
Where we built our dreams within.

First attempt at love poetry? It does not suck, this was awsome! I love the sea...
Well done. This poem was beautiful.
Take care.
