A Moment

Contributed by hoidy on Tuesday, 28th December 2004 @ 11:05:09 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

When I look into her eyes,
A moment frozen in my life.
Time slows down,
My heart speeds up.

The sun and moon fade away,
The weather disappears.
My mind blanks out the worthless worries,
All my troubles are forgotten.

I hope; I dream,
I guess; I wonder.
I know not what to think,
I know not what she thinks.

I dream of hopes,
I hope for dreams.
I want her love,
I love her wants.

So many thoughts run through my mind,
The moment our eyes meet.
Time speeds up,
My heart slows down.
That moment over, for now.

Beautiful. "I want her love. I love her wants." That's just about the sweetest thing you could say about someone you love. Great poem! Cheers!

I started reading this and thought "oh great, another secret love peom" but there are two incredible verses in it.

I hope; I dream,
I guess; I wonder.
I know not what to think,
I know not what she thinks.

I dream of hopes,
I hope for dreams.
I want her love,
I love her wants.

These to me just sum up perfectly what it is to be secretly in love yet are unique to this poem. Because secret love is only about one person, "I". It really has nothing to do with the other person at all and those two verses just capture that in the most incredible way.
