I love pop-tarts

Contributed by smooshable on Monday, 27th December 2004 @ 01:54:35 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

The love of bacon and sausages,
Of eggs the brown hen lays
The early morning caffeine fix
Is running in your veins.
The Strong flavour of Early grey tea,
Brekkie smells wafting through the skies
I know, but cannot share it,
My love is otherwise.

I love my untoasted pop-tarts
Breakfast of pastry plains
Rugged mountains of sugar
All over your clothes it rains
I love pop-tarts on the menu
As far as the eye can see
Her beauty and her terror
Her fruity filling for me

Core of my heart, my cereal,
Plate of the flaky gold,
Each time you eat her corny bits
She pays you back threefold.
Over the childproof spoon and plastic bowl,
UHT milk seems to pour for days,
The filmy veil of greenness
That thickens as we gaze.

Core of my heart, my just juice!
Her pitiless orangeness lies
When, sick at heart, around us
The just juice makes us high
Our second use for just juice
We use the poppers again
Like the drumming of an army,
I pop, pop, pop them.

An opal-hearted embalmment,
Lavishly pre-packed by hand
All you who have not loved her,
You will not understand
Though Earth holds many splendours,
Wherever I may die,
I know to what breakfast
My homing thoughts will fly.

this is a really cool poem. its so refreshing to hear from someone who isnt suicidal - no offence all you suicidals out there (have faith) - but it was just a great poem. I don't really know how else to describe it or what else to add and I'm not entirely sure why i liked it so much but I know that i did...a lot.
woo for just juice!
