I wanted more than Fate would give
Gifts withheld as if to taunt
Rob my senses and make me want
One more kiss and last embrace
Sweet words tumble from your lips
Steal my heart with affectionate kiss
And in your arms I find true bliss
Until we part at dawn’s first light
Tears upon my pillow fall
As sleep comes down upon my head
Fate mocks me in my lonely bed
Where you have deserted me again
The sun rises and sets on you
And when at last you come no more
No secret knock upon my door
I know the darkness of defeat
