Chestnut Reverie

Contributed by blackmarker on Sunday, 26th December 2004 @ 06:14:22 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

Once upon a time, I ran to you
Bare toes in the grass
Laughing below a towering sky of blue
Listening to your sweet voice
But then you withdrew

I’m in lust, they say
Give me some time and a day
I promise I’ll be right as rain
Just don’t leave me this way

I’m just a fool’s fool
Lost when the thunder cries
I’m just a fool’s fool
Swallowed when the ocean sighs
When the ocean sighs…

I hate having to play a part
Of this stupid, cliché performance
Pretending not to care
But what you don’t know is
How strongly I hate all those other girls
That you let into your life instead of me

I’m just a fool’s fool
Lost when the thunder cries
I’m just a fool’s fool
Swallowed when the ocean sighs
When the ocean sighs…
When it sighs…

All of the things that they give to you
All of the things that they put you through
They’ll never love you like I do
They’ll never love you like I do

So take me now
Or take me never
Wait too long and lose me forever…

I’m just a fool’s fool
Lost when the thunder cries
I’m just a fool’s fool
Swallowed when the ocean sighs
I’m just a fool’s fool
Lost when the thunder cries
I’m just a fool’s fool
Swallowed when the ocean sighs
When the ocean sighs…
When it sighs…
