The Place I Fear To Go

Contributed by pixie on Saturday, 25th December 2004 @ 01:17:39 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The place that I fear to go,
Is a place that we all know,
The past is a scary & dark place,
Makes you panic & your heart race.

I try to keep looking ahead,
I doubt my past will ever be dead,
I hear it calling out when I am alone,
It knows when no-one else is at home.

I dread the questions my therapist will ask,
As to answer will be such a hard task,
I just want to leave alone & forget,
But I highly doubt that I will be let.

I wish I had an eraser to wipe it away,
But I haven’t so in the background it will stay,
Lurking & skulking behind me where ever I travel,
It’ll be waiting to one day again unravel.

I’d like to pack it all away in my mind,
Never to escape & never to find,
But your past has a way of creeping up,
Snapping at your heels like a deranged pup.

I relate to the therapist ... I hate stirring up everything. It hurts soooo much and I always feel worse. I want to kill my therapist sometimes..I always write poems about it..most are in the premium section because I curse..LOL

Oh hunni, I'm with everyone else on this, this is a fantastic write.
And I can sooo relate. I know it hurts hun, but think...the past has gone. I know it sometimes comes and kicks us in the butt, but at least we have the future.

This made me feel so sad, and I'm here for you if you need me.

*hugs you tons and tons*

Today of all days this poem really hit home with me Pixie. You've captured something with this. A rather unpleasant feeling. A feeling your mind is taking over your body, playing echoes of the past.

Keep up the excellent work!

Lots of luv,

Pander
