Forever

As the moon shown bright, bright enough to see the refection in his eyes, they stared at each other, like there was nothing else around them, except for themselves. They sat there on the hill, in the open meadow, not a soul in sight, just the open skies, the glowing stars, and the great white moon, clear as a crystal. They both leaned in for their lips to touch, and for the fire inside to burn even brighter. As their lips touched they closed they’re eyes, and saw not black but white, they saw their lives, forever together, holding each other, not letting go, not wanting to feel the emptiness, of no longer having someone next to you...They opened their eyes to see that the moon was now even brighter, so bright, it could eclipse the sun. They held each other, and felt the warmness of each other’s body. As one shed a tear for being so thankful, for having such a wonderful friend, it made him think about all the other people in his life, the ones who never cared, never took a chance to even get to know him, who never saw his real side. As he thought about those things, he realized, that it doesn’t matter anymore, as long as they have each other, that’s the most strength anyone can have...The other one asked why he was crying, and he said that it was you, his expression grew very confused, for he had done nothing wrong, he asked if it was the kiss, and the other replied no. He said that it was the person you are, never change yourself for anyone, if they don’t love you the way you are now, that will never be real love, because I love you for who are, and what you want to be, don’t let other people talk you down, talk us down. We need to stay together, and be strong, until the end, because I want this love to last forever...

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
