Overdose

Contributed by Griggsby on Thursday, 23rd December 2004 @ 09:56:23 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

I sit so alone in my room at night, I drug myself to sleep. I count the shadows of pretty things, of needles, instead of sheep. The LSD begins to leak from the cracks of my bedroom walls, All of these things surround my torso, my peer pressure build up begins to fall. A blizzard of cocaine comes blowing along, and powders up my room, I get so cold from the flakes of acid, I think I need a shroom. I see the trees outside my window, with leaves of five and seven, I take one puff, I take another, I begin to float and go to Heaven. The crack rocks start to pile in front of my rainbow coloured bed, I break a rock, I smoke a rock, I go numb and I feel so dead. Little pills of red and orange do a dance in front of me, I pet that pill, I ate that pill, so blurry is what I see. I get out of my bed and walk down the stairs with all the things that fallow. I'm all alone, no one around, my house seems so hollow. I go to the bathroom and stand in front of the fortune telling mirror, I look so weird and crazy, my looks do not appear.

Overdose...

I don't really get it... Are you writing about using all those drugs at once and overdosing, or are you on lsd and tripping and thinking about those drugs... I am a little confused... But I do have to say the first line is amazing!

That gave me chills.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
