I Had a Dream and Nobody Saw Me

Contributed by KATIE2008 on Thursday, 23rd December 2004 @ 11:38:16 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I had a dream and I was not alone
All around me were long time friends
Family that was once close to me
But in my dream I tried to speak
I tried to scream but no one could see me
No one could see me bleeding
No one could hear my screaming
No one could feel me seething with anger and hate
So coldly they turned to me
And walked right past me
Seemed like everyone was against me this time
Slowly all of them walked away
Until I was left alone
Wasting away in misery
Waiting for someone to see
I waited for so long to wake up from this dream
Years and years it seemed
But I guess I just have to accept this now
It's not a dream
It's my reality

excellent poem, I can relate very well. People get so consumed by their lives that they ignore everything else. Well keep up the great postings

Katie, You have created a very powerful message of reality for so many in poetic form. Wonderfully done and I take My hat off to you for sharing Your awesome talent of poetry and a little of yourself with all of us. Great Job. The emotional content was deeply felt by this reader and the image of reality was clearly seen through my minds eye. As I now part, I have a special favor to ask of you for all of us. Please, keep your fingers stroking those keys creating your meaningful poetry for everyone please. May You have a safe love filled holiday season with Family and Friends and Your Special Someone. Your Reading Fan, MickeyPigKnuckles :)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
