I do not understand these misconceptions
The obsession with an empty reflection
The exchange of heartless words
Or the desire to spoil flawless imperfection
I hear your hollow wisdom
And refuse with perplexing dares
I defy the impatience with difference
And endure the painful stares
Now matter how hard they glare
They can never see what lies behind my eyes
Unfair judgement on appearance alone
So begins the permeation of true lies
I stood up and faced the world
And it turned its back to me
They are blinded by misconceptions
Of what a person should never be

Some things never change *shrugz* You've penned the emotions of such things quite well here.
It's not just high school, it continues throughout life unfortunately.
