Fail And Fall

“Fail And Fall” - by J. Samuelson Copyright©2001 10/19

How is it you understand
When I just don’t at all?
Unsure of what my heart wants
Afraid I’ll Fail And Fall.

I thought I was so certain
I thought we found it all
But now some things have changed
Afraid I’ll Fail And Fall.

I’m not one to cause hurting
Can’t stand to be the blame
I know it’s all my fault
My head hangs down in shame.

I hate the way this happens
Don’t mean to cause you pain
I need to find the truth now
Won’t waste our love in vain.

I know you should have better
My back’s against the wall
Not making lame excuses
Afraid I’ll Fail And Fall.

I love your good intentions
Still I’m left feeling small
Someone will be let down
Afraid I’ll Fail And Fall.

I don’t know how to do this
And leave someone to cry
Maybe I should be the one
To say the last goodbye.

Close the door and be alone
And throw it all away
Let both of you move on ahead
And pay the price I’ll pay.

Be lonely left with misery
Leave myself here to crawl
Accept the circumstance of love
And let me Fail And Fall.

I’ll always know I caused it
And know I had it all
But made one big mistake again
So now I’ll Fail And Fall.
