Blueprint of Life: File “JAG”

Contributed by jace21 on Wednesday, 22nd December 2004 @ 10:01:53 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I saw the other night my plan revealed,
I tried to question, but my lips were sealed.
All I could do was sit back and see,
As my whole life, was shown to me.
It played like a film, beginning to end,
With all the people in my life, both family and friend.
The ups, the downs, the joys and sorrows,
Lying in bed waiting for all the tomorrows.
Closing my eyes just to see Her,
Then suddenly She disappeared, it all became a blur.
Sadness always followed, after all the cheers,
It’s amazing I haven’t drowned myself in all the tears.
Obstacles arose, many times I fell on my face,
Everyone shouting “Give up! You can’t do it Jace!!”
Every failure and disappointment, each break-up and fight,
Motivated me to stay positive, and make this junk right.
The years were flying by, time going so fast,
My years in High School and College, dang! So far in the past.
So many people around me, both old and new,
Feelings of concern, Love and uncertainty, what should I do?
The end of the tunnel was approaching quick,
I searched and panicked for a pause button to click.
I knew what was coming, the light getting near,
Would this be a dream come true, or turn into my worst fear?
All I knew, so close to me in my life
Their faces shining in my mind, without a hint of strife.
I knew it was finished, I fulfilled all I could do,
My paradise life awaits me, I hope you’ll join me too...

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
