We Will Walk Away

Topic: ChristianPoetry

Me knees hit the floor of the old church.
Around me are people that believe.
I hold my hands in pray
Really thinking of what to do after this

Flames swirl around me
I fall backwards into the light of day
I am outside the church watching
As flames take, it and the believers scream for help.

No one comes to help the screaming voices
And no one escapes the burning tomb of God
So I just walk away leaving it for someone else
I am not a child of god, he didn’t kill me.

They think it is God’s will
To have those people burning up in the church
But I am not from God, so his will can’t hurt me.
I go to a playground now, and see a little girl with a cross.

She throws it against the blacktop
And watches as the wood splinters and flies everywhere.
A piece lands at my feet and I pick it up.
Running the jagged piece of wood across my flesh, I am not cut.

The girl throws a piece at a little boy reading the bible
It hits him in the face, blood falls from the cut.
I grab the girls hand and we walk away
The playground goes up in flames.

When judgment day comes
All the children of god will be judged
And those that are nonbelievers
Will just walk away.
