The Family Loft

Topic: ApologyPoetry

Jane and i are breaking the lock
Out of the barn and away from the loft
A race with the moon and a glimse behind
Nobody will notice i left just in time
I cant seem to feel anything real!
Dont blame me daddy, its just the way i was raised
Among the animals and now i grew out of that phase
Of barking on command im now the hunter
If winters a little cold this year more then usual..
Nobody would be surprised.
Jane and I are running barefoot to the lake
Away from our routine life increased with pain
Careful not to wake the morning or the dead
Quickly into the lake where i shall lay my head
I cant seem to feel anything real!
Please dont hate me daddy, its just the way i am
Your hurdle of sheep i didnt mean to kill
All one thousand of them hung on the ceilings by nails
I wouldnt be surprised if winter comes early this year..
Nobody would feel the least bit moved.
I cant seem to shake the erge of hate
Im sorry for what i did but theres no regret
Sacraficial offerings i gave to you out of rage
Pure as their birth until they choke
I cant seem to feel anything real...
Now im stabbing rusted nails into my temples
Stab stab you bastard, its not worth a damn
I just cant see anything real worth feeling.

Its intriguing, yes. Disturbing? Perhaps - the thousand sheep nailed to the ceiling seems a slightly preposterous image for my imagination to consume without a comedic burp or two.

I mean, wouldn't you get very bloody doing that?

Anyway - welcome to YPDC.
Keep writing.
