On the quiet road west of me lays the end
of sunset. The amber cresent moon glows
like fire. Sparkled stars flicker from the heat
of earth. In the cover of darkness I drive alone
in the desert, tired of home and hurt by love,
Crushed and high strung. I run away from my
past lookin' for a bleak future. Failure is my
destiny. Spades linger in my mind.
Shaded futures past catches up in present
time. Death is waitin'. Can I leave now?
