wasted lives

Contributed by bluebird on Tuesday, 21st December 2004 @ 06:21:16 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

A distrought boy falls to the floor, alone in his room, covered in his own blood hoping death will take him soon, he'll never become a father, he'll never be a groom, all his life he looked for sunshine, but all he found was gloom/
A beautiful girl stares at her reflection in the mirror, hiding a terrible secret, too shocked to shed a tear, baggy clothes hid her growing belly from her family and her peers, but nothing could take away her desperation and her fear, she swallows a fatal amount of pills, followed by some beer, tomorrow might have been better, now tomorrow she won't be here/
A teenage soildier raised by his hood, never went to school, the junkies paid him too good, as homies kept dropping death he misunderstood, if given the opportunity to die for his pride, he knew he could and would/
A mentally deranged man making a noose inside his cell, his crimes were against children, and he knew he deserved to burn in hell, his last moments were filled with the memories of being raped at 12, he knew he'd offend again cuz he was gettin out on bail, he decided to end the cycle, and hung himself there in jail/
So many wasted lives,
cuz nobody caught the signs
people dont hear their cries
only taking notice when another tortured soul dies.

that was excellent, sad but pretty true. people are misunderstood or not even noticed until they do something horrific.

well written and gripping x
