A Boy

selfstruggles
|
a breath is taken
in the early hours
of the morning
warmth searches
for the chance under currents
of safety and love
finding only sleep
at this small hour
though one heart
still stirs
in the absence of a memory
when lips met
in prayer
and men’s bodies did
what men’s bodies
were made to do
(except love)
such a strong spirit
to love a man
who is so much older
to be the
foolish boy
chasing tears-
or, to just be a boy
