More Than Life

Slap on the lipstick
Scrawl the makeup cross your face
Forget the love you lost before
I'm here to find a new place

You filled a hole in my heart
But my boat's sinking now
A fatal drop I feel at last
I won't leave without a bow

Meet me on the dock and talk
For one last time I plead
I need another one to love
Just one last romantic feed

With a tug and pull; please
I try; I merely drown in seas
The last attempt has passed
It all seems to go so fast
And I lie in tears and freeze

Time has slowed to a staggering pace
Another one has emerged and in its grace
I run, I mourn, I scar my face
I can't believe my final taste

Sweet sweet love, come back to me
Watch my life fade away
I loved you more than life itself
And this is how I pay
