I OFTEN SIT AND PONDER
AT THIS VERY SPECIAL TIME OF THE YEAR...
WOULD I HAVE SQUANDERED SUCH A CHANCE
TO AID IN THE BIRTH OF A KING...OR
WOULD I HAVE IGNORED THE PLIGHT OF A BLESSED VIRGIN
AND RIDICULED HER FOR SUSPECTED SINS...
WOULD I HAVE BELIEVED THAT A CHILD WAS BORN
UNTO ALL MANKIND, TO FORGIVE US FOR ALL OUR SINS...
WHAT WOULD I HAVE THOUGHT OF THE MEANING
OF A STAR SHINING IN THE EAST
SHINING EVER SO BRIGHTLY AND GUIDING
MERE MEN, KINGS, AND BEASTS...
OH WHAT A SIGHT THEY MUST HAVE BEEN
THE THREE KINGS RIDING FROM AFAR
SITTING UP SO HIGH WRAPPED IN THREADS OF GOLD,
WITH WEALTH UNTOLD... TO BETHLEHEM THEY DREW
SEEKING OUT THIS BABY WRAPPED IN TATTERED CLOTHING
WHO CAME TO SAVE ALL MEN
AND ONE DAY WOULD DIE FOR US TOO...
MUCH TIME HAS COME AND GONE SINCE THIS BLESSED NIGHT
AND I ASK OF YOU, AS I HAVE MYSELF
DO YOU GUIDE YOUR SOUL BY JESUS' LIGHT?
PLEASE LET US TAKE A MOMENT, NOT MUCH MORE I SAY
TO REMEMBER THIS HOLIDAY IS ABOUT THE SON OF GOD
AND WHAT WAS GIVEN TO US WHEN HE WAS BORN...SO
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS ... AND THANK YOU FOR THIS DAY
