Done

Contributed by nightrider on Friday, 29th November 2002 @ 05:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

one day i woke up,
knowing that i was done,
done trying to fit in,
done trying to be cool,
done trying to live life for them.
i decided that day,
that if no one could show me,
that they cared about my life,
then i would end it all,
so quickly that night.
at school all that day,
i walked through the halls,
waiting, hoping for someone to speak,
but my hopes were in vain,
for no one could find anything to say,
no one passed me with a friendly glance,
no one cared.
so, here is not where i will be,
tonight i am going far away,
where no one can find me,
where no one can see me,
where no one can ever hurt me again.
i am finally done,
done with this place,
done with these people,
done with this life.
my hope has died,
and i am going with it.

It's funny how silence from other people can hurt us so deeply when we search for just one kind loving word from anyone at all, yet if they speak and say to much it can hurt just the same. Thanks for sharing this one i know how this feels all to well.

i really enjoyed reading this. silence kills. but i guess people should just stop trying to fit in and be themselves. be true to yourself, and only then will u find a meaning to life

Very selfishly I have thought the same exact things and even done this. However there were words exchanged but they weren't enough. Thinking so negatively can only lead to self-fulfilling prophecy . Instead of focusing on what you don't have try focusing on what you do. Let me know how it goes.. I'm struggling to practice what I preach..

Take care
R.

I've woke up om days like these, many many many times. It'll get better or perhaps way worse before it gets better but it gets sometime. I promise! (I usually won't make promises)
Always

Very potent poem. In the ideal world, everyone cares about everyone else, and simple hellos flow like water. In the real world everyone is more reserved than they need to be.
