Love, let me know you,
Give me the answer
To your mysteries.
I've been held
In unremembered arms,
None of them yours,
Watched love lose its substance
Like watered-down wine,
Took comfort, at times,
In the smallest resemblances
Of love, as if the last.
A place at a table beside me
Sits empty, my head resting against
An absent shoulder. I see you
Somewhere, in places,
Like the unguessed part of you,
I have never known,
I wonder, when you're there,
If you think of me.
I want to know you,
Your curiosities, your eccentricities,
What it is
That enchants you.
All things pass in time
Except miracles, mostly small ones,
They happen every day.
I've seen them happen.
There are witnesses.

Judy, this is lovely. I have thought these thoughts in my mind so many times. I never found an endearing, lasting love in my life. I too have seen the miracles happen to others and am still waiting my turn. I guess I am an optimist when it comes to love. I have quit looking for it so many it can find me now! LOL
This was like a look inside my mind. Amazing.
