Frozen happy faces

Smiling Photo faces, which silently say goodbye,
A thousand frozen moments of laughter, never supposed to die.
But now all the smiles have turned away, though held within my mind,
Reminding me of past times, when I know that I was blind.
And their ears won't hear me calling, never hear the things I say,
Never answer all my questions, of why things are this way,
But I will continue to keep their faces, imprinted on my brain,
So now that I have lost them, at least the past will still remain.
(And I will cling to it with all my strength, in case it runs away...)
And it doesn't make a difference, it doesn't matter what I say,
I could speak a thousand curses, those faces will never change,
Just stare back up at me smiling, suspended in their glossy cage,
But at least those frozen happy faces will never go away.
A thousand happy memories, shrouded in disguise,
Turned to a thousand painful teardrops, released over time.
And it will never even matter, because you are no longer by my side,
And these tears are becoming stronger, becoming harder to hide.

| sometimes I hate photos..a reason to cry..to remember a memory that only makes me long for a time I can no longer have..to heck with that. burn it and be done!!!! Let go and Let somebody else!!!! rotfl |

This is really, really good. (And I'm not just saying that.) We all have bits and pieces of our lives that are strewn around and take us back to moments when we were happy and maybe didn't even realize it, but the pieces can crush us now. We can't change them. I remember a time...well, I won't tell that now, but let's just say you have seized upon something that is almost universal and delved into it with feeling and eloquence. Nice write.

It does sometimes slip away if you don't hold on tightly. Even with hindsight (MUCH hindsight)... I still don't know how I feel about that. I sometimes wish I had more pictures from days gone by. Other times... I sort of think it's better that I don't.
Either way... it's hard, I think. If I didn't already know that - I would have understood as much after reading this. *sigh*

This write elicits sad feelings, but it is an amazing creative piece. It is so moving emotionally, with a wonderful style and flow.
....ah yes, the photo album where so many memories are stored....

wow philly for being someone who can come off as naive your writing is extremely deep... I love the last two lines, they add an excellent touch of drama. despite what you think I believe this one is done.

This just grabbed my heart. It resonated in a way I can't aptly describe.
Tears are the hardest thing to hide, yet the easiest with repetitions smile.
