Little Boy So Blue

Topic: SadPoetry

She was afraid to walk up and open the door
but she had to know what was making that noise.
She forced her steps one by one,
as she walked soft- footed in to room.

It was hard to see, no lights were on,
but there in the dark, she saw a small boy,
curled into a ball, he wasn't big at all.

As she touched his face, the boy pulled away.
The fear caused him to,because of what happend earlier that day.
She asked him,"Little one, what happened to you?"
He said"I'll tell you if you promise to take me home."

So she said,"I promise , if there's no danger there."
So the boy said,"ok then, here's my story.
It started this morning,Dad said he was leaving Mommy.
I saw her crying, begging him to stay,
but he got in his car and left anyway.
I tried to stop him but he didn't see me running his way
So I ran fast and grabbed onto the bumper.
He drove and drove for nearly two miles.
My hands got tired, so I had to let go. I fell under the tires.

But Daddy drove on into the night.
I watched as he went far out of sight.
I tried to pick myself up, to get out of the road,
and finally made it to this empty home.

So if you'll be so kind to take me home,
I can tell my Mommy that we'll be ok.
Daddy may be gone but I can take care
of all her worries, no matter what they are.

So, she took him home and his Mommy cried with joy!
She thought, she didn't just loose his Daddy
but also lost her little boy.

Well, years went by, He grew in to a man.
Mommy raised him to be the best he can.
Now, he's married ,with a son of his own,
and swears he'll never leave "his Mommy" alone.
