My middle child, my baby,
my grown up son, my heart
You're all these things rolled up in one,
so this is how I'll start.
I remember when I brought you home,
all wrapped up and sweet,
You had a little sister, waiting for you to meet.
I named you Adam Todd, your dad was mad to me.
I guess he thought your name should be "little Timothy"
Many years have passed since then, twenty seven to be exact
You've been away a couple years, it's great to have you back.
I missed you very much my son, while you were away
Now all I do is hope and pray, that you are home to stay.
I think I want to much from you
I try not to be that way,
But you're the rock I've never had, you'll understand some day.
For now my son, I'll cut this short,
We'll have a talk real soon,
Untill that day you should know
I think you hung the moon!!

Your poem gave me goosebumps.. I really thought it was very good. I'm so happy for you, he's back, and so joyed to hear how much you appreciate him, it warms my heart. I couldn't have children of my own, so I can't actually say I know how you feel, or I've been there too. But I do UNDERSTAND that love. You see, I feel it so deep in my heart but I have no child to give it to. So, that's why I read these poems about Mothers and Children, it brings me closer to experiencing it myself. So, for that I thank you. I would say, be thankful for your children, but it shows you already are. :O) |
