Accident Scene

Contributed by Rainydreams on Friday, 17th December 2004 @ 02:53:41 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

They found fibres on your hands, dear
That said you weren’t faithful towards the end
I was wondering if it was my friend
That you were seeing as you started to descend

The scene of the accident smelt like a ravine
The men in white and you in a black bag in-between-
A white glow that dethroned the decay
While all my anger was swept away by pain

Blue swirling lights hit covering trees
A crowd had gathered by the yellow tape beam
That defended them from you
God I wish you had defended us before you flew
Like a trapped bird that had ruffled away
I wish you could have talked to me and tried to stay

So now I sit on a green hill wondering why you sit still
Why you are in the grass, in the soil and amongst the past
Mingling with the photos and rubbing against the vast
All I have left is the fractured memory that’s been bypassed

By the thought of infidelity
It itches and scratches at me like acne
I don’t know who he was but they found his touch
Just knowing that our pureness has been tranquilised is too much
Now I can’t seem to believe
That we were the accident scene
