I remember you then,
standing boldly against the blaze of color
licking at your form.
And you in that simple, white dress -
an array of windblown wonder.
Open your eyes,
deep wells into the heart of fury -
gray to match the storm,
and stare into oceans never imagined,
thundering toward you,
receding with the tide.
The mist of the storm cups your brow
into proudly held defiance,
your flaxen hair like billowing trails
across a watercolor of memory.
