the anniversary

Mr. Walters died two weeks ago
And Mrs. Walters stayed inside.
I wanted to listen to her pain,
But she could not yet confide.
Mr. Walters died two weeks ago
And she hadn’t seen his gravesite.
His tombstone blank with hurt
From words she could not write.
Mr. Walters died two weeks ago
And still Mrs. Walters cries.
Two weeks isn’t a very long time
When your true love dies.
Friends will help and time will heal
And the pain will go away.
But still she cried because he died
Two weeks ago today.

This is such a sad write it
brought tears to my eyes, it must
be so hard to lose a soul mate
to death this way. Thanks for
