For Them, To Most, and You

Contributed by bluoreo on Thursday, 16th December 2004 @ 06:13:57 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Melt the ice away to find fragments of my broken soul
Burned pavement
Rusted metal
Rug burn
How it feels
Brain waves of empty thoughts
Words that were too hard to find

Knowing how I felt, you did it anyway
You bargained my life away
Thinking I wouldn’t care

Marking my life on paper
I failed to read it
You threw it in my face
Thinking I didn’t know

Freeze dried thoughts and forget me nots
You knew what you were doing
No excuses

Follow the leader
Hide and seek
Freeze tag
The immature games you played
I should have seen it coming
Sadly ignorance is not related to hindsight

You’d break every bone in my body
Maim me for life
Leave me to rot
All this and still you wouldn’t help
I’m not surprised
Nothing you do amazes me

“Best wishes”, you’ll say
But remember
I read between your lines
Your lies
Your false accusations
You fool everyone but me

My tired eyes show you the truth
You drained every inch of my body
Skin and bones

Lonely, broken and forgotten
That’s who I am

Devious, evil, and dark
That’s who you’ll stay
