Each day

Contributed by Tanmaya on Thursday, 16th December 2004 @ 01:25:29 AM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

Even the night breathes, just to praise You,
I have heard the winds sing to You, Jesus,
sing of the quiet beauty of Your presence,
shining a light for a lone traveller in the valley.
Even the new moon whispers ancient hymns,
and all the stars join in a heavenly choir...

Even the oceans hearken to the voice
that can command their waves to listen.
I have waited on their golden shores,
and heard their blue depths whisper...
of the prophecies that brought down
to earth from the heaven- a Savior.

Even the dawn sings with it's crimson sky,
crimson like a blood-stained palm...
like a love that knows no bounds.
For, even the dawn burns like a candle
waiting for it's skies to unfold one day,
to reveal the banner of an eternal King.

Even as moonlit reflections, even as a blazing fire,
even as the fields of summer, even as a winter storm,
even as the evening-song of the nightingale,
even as the brazen flight of an eagle...
I worship You with my silence, and
I worship You with my heart's passion.

Even with the night and even with the oceans,
I stay awake with the stars and gaze at Your glory,
I dance with the waves and shout of Your love.
And each day, my heart sings a million new songs,
yet none seem enough, each day, I worship You,
and each day- I feel I have only begun...

beautiful work these two lines really stood out for me.

Even the new moon whispers ancient hymns,
and all the stars join in a heavenly choir...

poetry at its finest.

This piece echoes sheer magnificence, and speaks of quiet, delicate beauty at the same time. The best hymn of praise I have read in a very long time. Bravo!

Andrew

this poem is full of beauty and your devotion to the Lord is evident. I especially love the second and third stanzas, and the last two lines of the last stanza. Isn't it incedible to think, we really only have just begun? May you heart's passion continue to worship our Lord and King..

I'll put it this way. The first, second, third forth, and fifth stanzas were my favorites.
Well done.
Take care.
David
