Rainbows and Flowers

Contributed by SeXyDrAgOn on Thursday, 28th November 2002 @ 02:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I want to write a happy poem
Something about rainbows and flowers
But to spit it out
Would take days and hours

No heart felt feeling
Could possibly exist
In a "happy" poem I write
When he is so badly missed

So dark and gloom
The shadowy secrets of my heart
Keeping the sunshine away
Me and the beautiful poetry apart

How can I write about happiness
When all I can feel is grief?
When those moments of smiles
And laughter are fake and brief?

How can I pretend it's alright?
that everything is ok?
Write about emotions that I don't feel
Cause he's so far away?

I can't write a happy poem
Something about flowers and rainbows
I can't spit any of it out
It's nothing that my heart knows

I know what you mean in this poem. I used to write either sad poems or fantasy's... wait, I still do.... but my best friend (MoonlitAngel) used to ask me to write a happy poem, and I just couldn't write it. The words just couldn't come. Good write, thanks for sharing.
