WHEN A BLUE WORLD TURNS TO GREY

Contributed by Steeleyes on Thursday, 28th November 2002 @ 02:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

When the dreams all die
We can say goodbye
When it comes to the day
This blue world turns to grey

When all dreams die
It'll be way too late
To say 'Okay let's change'
No time left to rearrange

What are you hoping for?
That someone from above
Will come right to your door
And turn your fears to love?

Can't you see that's wrong?
There's no one up above
John said it in his song
It's up to us to love

And government is no god
They are well below
No one's at the wheel
Controlling where we go

Old ways now are being lost
Good feelings that used to be
We'll all soon count the cost
As the youngsters fail to see

Can't you feel it slip away?
Day after day after day?
And the tension in the air?
A blue world turns to grey

Don't wait for revolution
It won't come
Don't wait for government
instruction
There will be none

Start today
Reorganize your life
Find a way
Reduce your daily needs
Find solid basics
Survive the coming storm

I wish you well my friend
I am no fiend from hell
The Amerikan way is wrong
I'm betting you can tell

But I am just like you
Trying to find my way
I only know I hurt inside
As a blue world turns to grey

I liked it. I wrote some poems like this in my youth. Keep it up.

Alex.

Thanks Alex. I started when I was but a callow youth myself - 12 or so - I wish I still had the things I wrote but I suppose they WERE pretty bad! ;D
