A Utopian World

Contributed by maryetta on Wednesday, 15th December 2004 @ 03:25:40 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

what is this side of me that always sees the good
that always makes excuses for the wrong the bad
i continually see only the good never see evil
yet i know it is there i just dont want to see it for what it is
im forever dreaming of a utopian world

i hear of horrible crimes but i dont want to believe them
if the truth is known im a terrible romantic not a realist
i want the world to be good i want the world to be happy
yet i know this is not possible im just a dreamer in disquise
im forever dreaming of a utiopian world

it is said as you get older you get wiser im still waiting
i really dont know what wiser means can someone tell me
i just know im not wiser or id recognise certain things i dont
at least id think id see certain things for what they are but i dont
im forever dreaming a utopian world

maybe it comes from living alone with no friends around
these ideas seem to crop up in my head without help
but do not fear im quite harmless just a wee bit eccentric at times
and im really not that old yet just getting there is all
im forever dreaming a utopian world
