A temptation that both of us alike can no longer defy,
Daily life feels like such a lie.
No one realises my addiction, its always hidden,
As many have made it feel forbidden.
A close friend feels little hope, as I cannot not control it,
He is not sure he can handle it.
He knows my pain, alas I still feel alone,
Yet even now he takes that tone,
The tone that makes me feel so hated and more tempted.
Everybody’s pleas and words are now constantly muted.
Day after day I am closer to succumbing to my addiction.
I am starting to feel mentally and physically beaten.
My poetry is becoming a less effective outlet.
I now find it hard to disguise my upset.
A friend from afar hates to see me this way,
I hear the words that he does say.
He is so worried, and for this I feel guilty,
As I am always so moody.
Mark you don’t even realise how much I am going through.
Considering for a while all we have done is argue.
I want to share my inner most pain with you,
Does thee wish to come to my rescue?
Could thee stand to listen to thou?
I will spill all if thee would allow…..

| Hi, i like your poem, i think it is so effective. When i saw the name of the poem it just drew me in and i also think that your poem is very emotional. It expresses alot of your feelings and i hope hat everything turns out ok. Stay strong and never give up. Well done from Gem xx |
