Topic: oops

I woke as usual this morning
and you said, quite naturally,
that today was a day for
berries in your cereal.
Later, sitting, eating,
looking at you
it occurs to me that
we always save berries for Sunday.
And yet,
here you are.
Is that how it happens then?
Waking after sleep to find
the world changed,
or is it just as simple as
berries in your cereal?

I like this poem. All those little things that happen to indicate change...
