i can't keep the stars in the sky
no matter how hard that i try
i can't convince the sun not to rise
i can't bear to wear this disguise
i wish i could take off this mask
let you look into my soul
i wish i could take back the past
pretend like i still have control
i can't keep the tears from forming
though i try not to let them escape
from the lids of my eyes
you know that i try
to hide it but sometimes i can't
i can't keep this heart from breaking
i can't keep the pain from taking
all that i was and all of my dreams
i wish you were still here with me
sometimes i try to keep the stars in the sky
cuz it feels like the skies caving in
and sometimes i fight just to deny
the lie of what's left within
all that i am is the tear that's restrained
unable to break from these chains
but i wish i could take back the past
erase you

well done, great write. very emotional and i can relate to what ur writing about. i like "all that i am is the tear that's restrained
unable to break from these chains
but i wish i could take back the past
erase you" thats a great write. please read some of my poems if u can, kinda on the same note. good job again.
