not again,
not another fight,
not another tense moment,
not another sleepless night,
no one to love,
no one to trust,
no sword for defense,
but the dogs body takes the thrust,
thats all i am,
the scape goat,
the one who belongs in the abiss,
alone and stranded,
never thought it could once again become like this,
anxiety,
pressure has begun,
fearing the world,
yet friend to the gun,
can you help me,
will you be the one?
the one who will save me,
take me to a world above the sun,
can anyone hear me,
does the universe listen in,
is my conscious focused,
is it still alive within,
or did she too realise the gun was a friend,
maybe she coldnt take it any more,
pulled the trigger,
hit the floor,
so here i am,
broken and unsheilded,
cut from the skin,
out of the box,
and into the bin

Funny how people will read and not comment - and this is a good poem, worthy of opinion and reflection. The biblical origins of the term scapegoat is 'the one who goes away", while the other goat is sacrificed. The scapegoat is then the one who is forced into exile as a symbolic carrier of all the bad things, in a family, a community, a workplace.
A raw and emotional plea from the heart. Righteous and powerful stuff.
P.S. a word on posting - do a spell check first. Misspellings can distract from the poem, a bit like a soldier wearing a wris*****ch in those old sword and sandal epics!
