Blood Moon - Oct. 2004

Contributed by Red_October on Tuesday, 14th December 2004 @ 12:21:29 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Flat on my back, watching the sky
The moon is turning red
and the lullabyes in my head
are bleeding from my ears
All the nightmares are whispering my fears
Chanting in rhyme at an unfortunate time
The moon is my escape for the night
The Blood Moon is shining bright
for without me
the world is still the same
Your world will not change
and you already told me you couldn't stay

Complimenting the stars you are
the best reaction in my brain
My craving and aching and pain
are lonely in their shame
This is no longer a game
Not fun anymore
Flat on my back, wishing for more
The moon is my escape for the night
The Blood Moon is shining bright
It turns a deeper red passing thru the night
Without me here watching,
the hours would be the same
I shouldn't even love you
since I know you can not stay

Ouch. I know it sounds trite, but I feel your pain. You've expressed it beautifully.

The moon was pretty spiffy looking.

"I shouldn't even love you
since I know you can not stay"

So true.

I like the moon^_^ but the stars, the stars take me away. When I was little(I was rather intraverted....still am i suppose) I couldn't see the stars, but i could always see the moon....and then i got contacts....all the fuzzy white spots in the vast blackness came alive....all the colors in them....i can never get enough...

There's a poem by Robert Frost in which he said 'nothing gold can stay'

I think that was him acknowledging the fact that everything that's beautiful, every love we have, no matter how true, ends.

course he watched most of his family die....his sons....a sad and beautiful man he was...anyway....good work....keep loving...it's the only truth we have.

always, abraham

since I know you can not stay". that was brilliant, really really really good. held me until the end. keep it up!
