Compassionate Puddles

Contributed by Red_October on Tuesday, 14th December 2004 @ 09:45:37 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

He enters the room and I am beside him.
My thoughts racing so quickly, forming rings of smoke
like feathery anticipation
brushing the airy shadows.
Motions no longer random
undulates and creates a space
inside our minds until we find
that place which never fades
away.
But not our hearts...

And I never asked him why, only tried
to turn the sky inside out to dry.
When the rain inclined my memories to die
like compassionate puddles dropped from the sky,
taking important pieces from me,
not asleep or awake just somewhere between, then denied ~
He lifts his grip and uncovers my eyes
the world now outlined in unfamiliar lights
and he leaves like the last traces of night -
Then he’s gone.
Feeling like my endeavours are not to persist,
his tune left to haunt me in broken riffs -
I cry for the loss but I don't know why,
and I can no longer find
that place in my mind.

I recognize not my heart
or the space emptied out like waste,
the gap seems unimportant with my thoughts at normal pace ~
The unfamiliar lights are now comfortable places
where I can relax and re-fill the spaces
But not my heart...

Yes, brilliant. Those places in our hearts never fill...only form scars. Hindsight provides us with some reassurance of what is best, but it doesn't fill the emptiness or even banish the ghosts. Only causes them to fade.

Wow, such a passionate work of art. What a compilation of words that best expresses the heart from a different point of view. Under the dirges of the crescendo we are so moved by the melody that we somehow forget where we are and are put in another world completely. And that makes me happy. Thank you for such a wonderful composition
