Legacy of the Storm Dragon

Legacy of the Storm Dragon
Unique Chapter 1

The land is cracked and burnt,
Rivers of burning molten rock,
Explosions rock the surrounding area,
A very lonely and desolate place,
Yet I love it here, this is my home,
All alone free to do what I please,
I can laze in the lava with not a worry,
Food is not a problem the sea is near,
Only visitors I get are from family,
But there are plenty of islands to go around,
Though my pad has the only volcano,

The life of a bachelor dragon has its perks,
Still young at three hundred summers,
Wetted in battle I think I have earned this,
No harm from a little peace and quiet,
Let those humans find their own battles,
Always calling on us…saying they need us,
Pa hall because the elders helped them once,
And they expect us to fight everything,
Let the others fight…I have had enough,
Stupidity and vainness a recipe for disaster,

So many young dragons off to prove something,
We are not immortal like humans seem to think,
Twice father has come to ask me to change my mind,
Twice I have sent him away with and angry no!
It is not our war…each time they win a war,
They seek to start another…always seeking more land,
Spreading like a plague…and the dragons keep going back,
Swayed by riches for their ever growing hoards,
I don’t care for all that wealth; my hoard is big enough,

My family doesn’t try to force me into battle,
They have learnt the hard way…that I am different,
Born on some stupid night, in some unusual storm,
Has made me into something else…
Yet they do not know what…and nor do I,
Bigger in size deep rainbow blue scales,
Confusing to try and watch the chaos colors changing,
I think differently to others, faster, stronger,
They hate me because I am different, but I don’t care,
To be continued………..

Wow sounds promising. Then again I'm such a sucker for dragon tales ;) This one brings to mind the work of Robin Hobb, you haven't read her novels by any chance have you? If not I strongly recommend The Farseer Trilogy, you'll love it. Looking forward to the next chapter!

By the way you've got a knack for choosing lovely titles/usernames.

... in the begining you presented the imagination of hell beautifully, then when you got more into this it came together more and after i read every sentance it fitted more or less into my life not long ago...
