Familiar Cry

In a distance I hear a cry
I follow the pain, the weeps of sorrow
Passing emptiness as I go a wondering by,
In hopes that I'll reach what I choose to follow.
But as I continue towards the cry
I notice that I felt it too.
Felt as if though, it was mine
Now pondering on what to do.
Should I go, or should I stay?
Again, I hear the cry, but louder
As I begin to tear, I look for a way
In which I'll try to find her.
Even though now knowing
the cry that was much like mine
I continue on forth going
by seeing her, her pain in my mind.
I open my eyes to all but a dream
of a girl who cried of suffering
just like I me, now clear to see
the cry was from the very own....me

| very good write. well written. i just wish this had a more original ending. ive read almost four thousand poems on this site, and the same type ending just becomes boring. its a good twist to have, but overused. and many great poets were famous for not only their style, but their originality. |
