Your shadow’s cold
And this lonely path is winding
I asked for nothing
But you sacrificed it blindly
Your sympathy
Cuts right through me
And leaves me hidden
So deep he will never find me
You held my hand
When I fell weeping in the moonlight
Then dragged me chained
To flaunt the victim by your side
Your sympathy
Is crushing me
And leaves me bleeding
As the stars shine red tonight
You long for praise
Of the shoulder that I cried on
Don’t want a hero
Only someone to rely on
Your sympathy
Has ended me
And left me blinded
To the black wings that I fly on
Where is the one
I knew before the night sun shone
I can’t go on
And I can’t do this on my own
Oh Sympathy
Come swallow me
And leave me breathless
In the winter so I’ll sleep alone
