Slippery imaginations

Contributed by zenmind on Monday, 13th December 2004 @ 01:33:44 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Slippery imaginations always sing lullabies,
brief interconnected songs,
that remind us of the unfortunate currency
that sum up the total frequency of slime,
sucked out of broken slot machines.

Slippery thoughts bring fast paced judgements,
with miscalculated corrections.
These word problems always trample over the mind,
its head squashed and splattered ideas,
are scattered across this swamp.

The Florida Everglade's glistening sunlight,
is fading into the moon's shadow.
Entering lightly come the antelope with their
antlers and horns, singing their scewed lullabies,
and praising their failed imaginations.

Cut holes in the bottom of this page.
I will praise my failed imagination.
Clean the words and place the pen in your hands.
Cling tightly.
Flip to the next page.
Find yourself holding onto the same broken images.

Slippery imaginations, antelopes grazing in swamps,
a broken music box with the same snowy ballerina,
taunting you with her mixed messages.
An unsung masterpiece,
that repeats over and over until your heart gives in to high cholesterol,
and your blood turns cold.
That leaves you with a flash of doubt, confusion, regret,
and ends with the sound of pouding silence,
drilling into your ears, until you are deaf.

thanks for the comments on my poems. I thought I would take a look at yours.

I really like this poem. Very surreal. My first thought was that it really reminded me of the art of Tanguy Yves or Pierre Roy. The underlying meaning isnt as obvious as most poems. I thought it was great.

When I read this it remindes me of the randomness of thought and imagination
I like this write because it does not allow me to dwell on one image or thought for too long I enjoyed the last stanza the best and I really don't know why

The title is very cool as well

I see the touch of genius in your "ramblings"
You carry the reader down into the depths of cryptic thought.
