Know Thy Master

Know Thy Master

Know thy master my accursed children…
that you may never question me.
For I aspire to no morality and pretend no goodness.
I seek only greater power…
greater control.

I was born eons past…
birthed from the evils of your ancestral brethren.
My father was the greed that made men kill
and my mother…
the jealousy that made men steal.

And it was those bitter failings
which made need for order amidst the resultant chaos,
a woeful demand for a heavy yoke of control
over the multitude of growing clans.
Thus did I forge the failings of your ancestral kin
into the empowerment of myself.

And so I became their government.
But as I gave order
so did I seize control.
As I made safe the frightened masses from rival nations
so did I task their own children with the ensuant bloodshed.
And as my governance became an answer to their ills,
so did they become slaves to my governance.

For yours is a slothful and backward race,
comforted like a babe with the security I provide
but unconcerned with growing beyond your need for me.
Snuggle next to me then and sleep in secure complacency,
dreaming not of what your race may have evolved into…
but waking only to teach thy seed
that it shall forever be their destiny is to be forever governed.

For it was by the ineptitudes of thy forbears that I was created…
by your own sloth that I have been legitimized…
and by your seeds acceptance that I shall be made omnipotent.

Thus shall all your generations resign their sovereignty to me.
And thus shall my own sovereignty always increase
until such time as even your own god is forgotten in my stead…
that I may become your only remembered source of morality.
And in those days shall I strike down the remaining few that cling to his name,
until there are none left save those who proclaim my glory.

For only by the absence of god
may the godhood of government be made manifest.
