SOUNDS

Contributed by destinyfate on Saturday, 11th December 2004 @ 06:43:39 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I sit outside enjoying the sounds.
I don't see another person around.
There are so many sounds to be heard.
Such as the sound of the chirping birds.
The sound of the river with it's steady flow,
and the sound of the traffic which for now is slow.
I'll enjoy these sounds for as long as I'm here.
My time to go home is so very near.
Then I will return to the sounds that are waiting.
At times they can be so fustrating.
Like the constant ringing of the telephone,
to the quiteness when I'm home alone.
The sound of friends knocking on the door,
as people on tv talk about war.
The sound of the kids arguing over the game,
to them constantly yelling out my name.
To all the bad sounds to all the good,
I wouldnt change them if I could.

It never is truly silent is it? Sounds are so much of our life - the good, the annoying and the beautiful - you captured all of these.
